Cookie Policy
Last updated 2 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Ridefolk uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit our site, and the choices you have. Some of these are strictly necessary to run the service; others are optional and only used if you allow them.
What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar mechanism that lets a site keep small amounts of data in your browser between visits. Ridefolk uses both — some to make the site work, and some, only with your permission, to understand and improve it.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies and storage are required for the site to function. They keep you signed in, remember your cookie choices, and help protect against fraud, abuse, and excessive requests. Because the site cannot work properly without them, they are always on and cannot be turned off.
Authentication and session storage
When you sign in, we store a session in your browser so you stay logged in as you move between pages, and we refresh that session in the background. This is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. Your cookie choice itself is saved in your browser's local storage under the key "ridefolk_cookie_consent".
Analytics cookies
If you allow analytics, we use PostHog to understand which pages and features are used and how the product performs, so we can decide what to improve. Analytics is optional and stays off until you opt in. You can turn it off again at any time.
Error monitoring and diagnostics
If you allow diagnostics, we use Sentry to collect error reports and performance diagnostics when something goes wrong, so we can find and fix issues faster. This may include limited technical details about your session. Diagnostics is optional and stays off until you opt in.
Third-party tools
Ridefolk relies on a few third-party services. Some are essential to running the app; others only operate when you have given the matching consent. Each service processes data under its own privacy policy.
